It replaces my earlier model HP Photosmart which cost more, jammed often and regularly disconnected itself for no reason. Mine is hidden in a kitchen cupboard and still prints flawlessly with the cupboard door shut.

It is big, not very portable and not a decorator item. The touch screen is receptive and made set up much easier. Web features are included, which I browsed through but haven't used and probably never will. It doesn't have an ethernet port, which may be an issue if your wireless reception isn't. It is fast, prints double sided, has a page feeder, a touch screen, usb input, scanner - everything I need. The wireless connection is reliable - it hasn't disconnected itself once. Direct printing from Ipad and Iphone is very convenient. This allows you to email documents and photos directly to your printer from anywhere - and they are sitting neatly printed in the tray when you get home. Very easy to set up, including the wonderful printer email address.

But I quickly felt relief, as I realized, I FINALLY am free from futile HP! I scooped up the dead junk, set it to my curb for garbage pickup, and gleefully, got a black-and-white all-in-one Epson machine recommended by Consumer Reports! So if the black stops, and the pad on the cartridge is wet and full. I knew it was because black and all other colors were working and suddenly no black. So it was a connection problem some where. So right after I got it, for grins I switched the print head (the tray that holds the cartridges) back to the old one, and whala! It started working. I check with Best Buy and they were selling the HP7520 for just over $160. They had a HP7520, one model newer than mine for $120, and for $10 more they'd give me a 2 year warranty. Since it was out of warranty, they didn't want to bother anyway, but asked if I could buy a "reconditioned" model. So I called HP, told them I went through all the references and cleaning and no luck so it must be a hardware problem. I had a couple old print heads so I kept changing, including a new one, cleaning contacts and no luck. As I expected it was a connection problem to the print head.
